Arashi, Wellington

41 Courtenay Place
Te Aro
Wellington
6011

We visited Arashi as a group of four, on a Friday evening, it was fairly busy but the staff managed to find us a table.

A couple of us had one of the set meals, the others ordered from menu. The deep fried crispy vegetarian spring rolls served with sweet chilli sauce were good although I hadn't realised these were a Japanese dish...

The pan fried pork and vegetable dumplings served with sweet and sour vinaigrette also didn't seen particularly Japanese, but were good all the same.

The stir fried noodles with seasonal vegetables, topped with pan fried chicken, bonito flakes and teriyaki sauce was apparently better than the blurred photo suggests!

I had the teriyaki fish fillet topped with teriyaki sauce with rice, miso and salad and all the components were up to scratch.

Both the green tea and sesame flavours of ice cream were new to me, but certainly enjoyable.

We had an enjoyable meal and the service through was efficient and friendly.
