2 Gamon Street
Seddon
VIC 3011
Charles and Gamon opened in April 2015 replacing Sabroso on the corner of Charles and Gamon Streets in Seddon, "aiming to bring something new and a little different to the inner west". Outside things look pretty similar and inside the layout hasn't changed much either, but it did seem lighter and brighter, but that could have been because we visited on a summer lunchtime.
The menu was mix of smaller dishes and some larger plates. We ended up going for the Sunday roast specials. The roast chicken came with duck fat roast tatties, gravy and coleslaw which ticked the boxes without being spectacular.
The lamb came with the same accompaniments but was too fatty for my fellow diners.
The meal came to a reasonable $74 for the three of us including a couple of drinks. The service was friendly throughout and I reckon we may head back to try out some of the other options another time.
